With over 25 years of experience guiding nonprofit organizations, foundations, and mission-driven businesses through growth, restructuring, and reinvention, LaJuana is known for turning bold vision into tangible, lasting impact. Her expertise spans executive leadership coaching, organizational development, racial equity strategy, and change management that doesn’t just endure—it elevates.
As a seasoned executive, LaJuana has served as Interim Executive Director for four organizations—including three 501(c)(3) nonprofits and one 501(c)(4) advocacy organization—demonstrating her ability to lead through crisis, restore trust, and turn instability into opportunity. She doesn’t just keep organizations afloat—she revitalizes culture, builds capacity, and leads with clarity, care, and accountability. With nearly three decades as a senior leader, board member, and strategic advisor, LaJuana brings a no-nonsense, tough-love approach to every table—cutting through noise, building alignment, and cultivating spaces where people are seen, heard, and respected.
She is the founder of the Black Executive Leadership Academy (BELA)—a groundbreaking 7-week masterclass and mentorship program for emerging and new Black nonprofit executives and board leaders. BELA equips participants with the skills, strategies, and peer community they need to break barriers, build legacy, and lead with confidence in the nonprofit sector.
Holding an MBA from Louisiana State University and nearing completion of her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, LaJuana merges theory with real-world leadership. Her work advances anti-racist leadership, systems change, and liberation-centered organizational design.
Beyond the boardroom, LaJuana is a global citizen who has traveled to 23 countries and 44 states. She’s known for her love of Finnish-style saunas, her deep storytelling instincts, and her passion for creating healing-centered leadership retreats. Whether she’s advising nonprofits, developing leaders, or collecting stories from strangers, her commitment to advocacy runs deep. She is all in for Black liberation, racial and gender equity, LGBTQ+ rights, and dismantling the systemic barriers that prevent marginalized communities from thriving.
