LaJuana Johnson

LaJuana Johnson is the transformative leader you call when your organization needs more than just motivation—it needs a revolution. With over 25 years of experience steering businesses and nonprofits through growth, strategy, and resilience, LaJuana is known for turning vision into impactful action. Her expertise spans executive coaching, organizational development, and leadership that doesn’t just survive but excels.

As a seasoned executive, LaJuana has served as Interim Executive Director for four nonprofits (three 501(c)(3)s and one 501(c)(4)), demonstrating her ability to navigate complex transitions and turn crises into opportunities for growth. She doesn’t just keep organizations afloat; she revitalizes them, builds their capacity, and drives meaningful, sustainable improvements. With nearly 30 years as a senior leader and board member, LaJuana brings a no-nonsense, tough-love approach to every table, cutting through the noise and bringing people together in spaces where they are seen, heard, and respected.

She is founder of the Black Executive Leadership Academy (BELA), a 7-week masterclass she created to empower Black nonprofit and business leaders. Designed for emerging and new executive directors and board members, BELA equips participants with the skills, network, and strategies needed to break barriers, build lasting legacies, and tackle leadership challenges with confidence.

With an MBA from LSU and near completion of her Doctor of Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, LaJuana blends theory with action, constantly pushing for equity, antiracism, and social justice. Beyond her professional life, she’s a globe-trotter who’s explored 22 countries and 44 states and is known for her near-obsessive love for Finnish-style saunas. Whether she’s hosting transformational retreats or collecting stories from strangers, LaJuana’s commitment to advocacy runs deep—she’s all in for Black liberation, racial equity, LGBTQ rights, BIPOC leadership development, and breaking down systemic barriers that keep marginalized communities from thriving.

LaJuana Johnson is more than a leader—she’s a catalyst for change, turning bold social justice ideas into action plans that revolutionize organizations and empower communities.
